Hi everyone. I have a cold that has left me sneezing and grouchy. šŸ™‚ After self-medicating with tea, aspirin, and sleep this week, I’ve started to feel a tad better.I hope you are all well and escape the cold and flu season without coming down with anything.

This week I’m sharing another snippet from Taboo Frequency. My apologies for the creative punctuation I’ve used posting this scene.

He’d had a few ventures in bed since he’d lost his leg, and none of the women had wanted seconds after they’d seen the mechanical extension and knee replacement; or maybe he hadn’t tried hard enough. Hell, he didn’t know anymore; it irritated him to think about women, ex-wives, failed relationships, and the difficulty of getting good sex—dammit—make that any sex.

The hope that something fine might happen disappeared and as his mood soured, he prepared to swing through a fast food place, and play dumb on the way back to her car—no harm done and have a good life little girl.

But before he turned the truck and began his retreat, Kiley took charge and Luke didn’t have to do a damn thing the rest of the night but smile.

ā€œI don’t take men home with me and I don’t go home with strangers; are you interested in having sex?ā€

ā€œYep,ā€ he said gruffly, ā€œwhere to?ā€

ā€œGot a condom?ā€ she asked andĀ  gave him directions to the local make-out site.

Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, he pointed at his glove compartment and muttered, ā€œSome in there I think.ā€Ā  Then he wished he hadn’t added, ā€œI think.ā€ She didn’t need to know how long it had been since he’d needed one.

Taboo Frequency; Smoke, Inc. (Hell Yeah! Equalizer KW World)

Blurb: When ultimate impulse collides with maximum control…

It’s all about taking charge. Luke Danvers has his future planned to the nth degree—until he steps on an IED in Afghanistan. Bitter, angry, and emotionally adrift, he returns to the States, ready to spend the rest of his life pissed off at the world.

Kiley Endicott has never been a poster child for moderation. Married and widowed young, she’s raising twins on her own. Since impulse has always ruled her life, it’s not easy being a sedate parent under the critically watchful eye of her family.

A Friday night lapse in sanity, leads Kiley to a hook up with Luke Danvers. Even in the cab of a truck, he’s an awesome lover. She wants more. But she’s got to be circumspect, nobody can know.

Luke hasn’t had fun in—forever. But he can’t stop grinning after he meets Kiley Endicott.Ā  It’s more than her being a totally uninhibited lover, but God knows he can’t get enough of that either. She makes him laugh.

She says nobody can know. Okay, he’s trained in stealth. He sets up a call system, a taboo frequency, guaranteeing her twenty four hour access in every way. But he’s not just waiting for their secret meets. He’s planning a siege.
