Hi everyone. Happy New Year and Best Wishes for 2016! I have really missed you guys. What with a wedding in the family, a personal illness, and a second family member’s hospital stay, I’ve been swamped trying to keep up with writing commitments. I hope to again be able to participate weekly with Snippeteers and Warriors in the new year. While you’re here, if you have time, check out my new website. Let me know if you find any glitches during your visit and I’ll get busy tweaking.

I’m sharing a snippet from Cowboy Burn, my first contemporary romance. It’s a novella appearing in the nine author holiday anthology titled, Ring in a Cowboy. The collection comes out on Monday, December 28th. (It’s on pre-buy now).

From: Cowboy Burn

By the time I’d replenished the food table, I’d again emptied my glass, so I decided to order another Moscow Mule. Instead of retreating to the kitchen, I sipped my drink and stared at the dance floor. When I finally got up enough nerve to kick off my ugly boots and join the crowd, I avoided eye contact with the other dancers and kept my gaze fixed on my chest.

I wondered why I’d ever doubted this dress; I loved the way the fringe went one direction as I gyrated in another.

I got so caught up in watching it sway, I didn’t realize I had a partner until Gable hooked a finger under my chin and lifted my head.

I grinned at him; he grinned back, leaned close, and promised, “I’ll watch ‘em for you.”

Fuddled, I didn’t get what he meant. Then I looked down at my chest bouncing underneath the cute red fringe.

“Okay,” I giggled, “you watch the girls, I’ll watch you.”

Blurb:

Five days after Christmas, and Harley-Jane Arthur has a plan. Use her artistic talent as entertainment at an upscale kids’ party, make enough to pay January utilities with money left over for a new barn roof, then buy a bottle of Red and toast New Year’s Eve—alone.

But… the balmy weather turns to rain, which turns to sleet, then ice, then snow. She’s stranded in town with no trains, planes, or Uber. Trying to grab a taxi, she sees a murder, then skids on her cheap boots down an icy road, landing on her bottom in a heaping pile of love.

Gable Matthews, a.k.a. Cowboy, has been waiting patiently these last few years for Harley-Jane to wake up from grieving for her husband. When she’s stranded during a snowstorm, it’s his chance to get her attention.

Snowbound, they discover sizzling passion, hot enough to melt the ice outside. But nothing comes easy for Harley-Jane and Gable. There’s an unpredictable blizzard, a wonky furnace, and a taxi-stealing killer, all trying to interfere with their love.
