Hi, everyone. It’s county fair time, back to school time, end of summer time, gear up for football season time…*sigh* It’s fall.
Whether you’re riding a ferris wheel, splashing down one last time at the beach, having an end of summer barbecue or doing all of them while celebrating the U.S. Labor Day holiday, I hope you’re having a fun weekend.
Today’s offering of eight continues last week’s shared snippet.
Irishman, professional pugilist and newest citizen in Isaca, Texas–Kellan Lonigan meets his heart’s desire for the first time in Outrageous Pride ( Book II Unlikely Gentlemen series ).
“So yer betrothed—what is the name of this lucky man?” Insanely Kell thought of hunting the fellow down and persuading him to move on; then of course, he cast that idea aside as barbaric and unworthy of such as her. Still…
Her blush deepened. “My engagement isn’t official.”
“Ahh…” He looked at her thoughtfully. Reprieve.

I like this. You show his inner thoughts so well.
Great scene!
Reminds me of a scene from that old movie, “I Love You to Death” with Kevin Kline.
Well done.
Love the set up of their relationship.
I really enjoyed River’s Edge and read the preview of this one. Sounds like another winner!
Nice guys don’t always finish last, yeah? 🙂
I agree with Kellan. I think he should hunt the fellow down, too. Nicely done snippet, Gem. 🙂
Not official? I guess he’s going to make his move. I like how that can take this story down a whole new path. Nice work!
Loved that it was like—-engagement? What engagement? Haven’t a clue what your talking about—kind of thing. Great exchange there.
History Sleuth’s Milk Carton Murders
That last word was absolutely perfect. What a great snippet!
Powerful snippet full of raw, unreasonable emotion!
Saying my engagement isn’t official is like an invitation to break it. I wonder if he will actually hunt the guy.
