Hi to all. Somewhere outside last week, while weed-eating around the utility barn and the fish pond, I acquired poison ivy. Yuck! Wish I could get Maggie Jenks to visit and make it go away. *BG* Today, I’m sharing another eight sentences from my Old West healer/shifter story, Blood Stoned.

From Blood Stoned~
Drip…Drip…Drip…
Blood trickled from my nose, over my lip, and fell with a splat on the back of my hand.
Fascinated, I watched the bloodstone slide across the table, stop when it reached my clenched fist, rub against the blood that had fallen, and pulse with dark magic as it fed.
I shuddered, but my disgust didn’t prevent me from scooping up the hex stone to hold in a tight grip.
Who. Did. I. Heal? I demanded answers from myself, pushing at the magical bindings that locked secrets in my mind.
“Show me,” I snarled and felt the bloodstone’s power clear a path to the truth. I closed my eyes, sinking into the vision.

Marvelous, Gem. You drew me in with the first drip.
Interesting, how the bloodstone works. Who did she heal??? 🙂 Intriguing snippet.
I’m so sorry about your poison ivy. I hope it heals quickly! I get it too. My husband judiciously patrols our front yard–which is no grass–just woods, and kills or removes every bit of poison ivy he encounters. In the past, I’ve gotten it, and the only explanation I could come up with is that one of the dogs ran through it and then I petted the dog. ~sigh~ Such insidious stuff…
You are so creative in the things you come up with. You’re such a good storyteller.
Awesome, Gem. The healing has to come at a cost, I wonder if we even know the half of it.
Ooh, shivery and effective. Loved the snippet!
Very gripping snippet.
You’re the second person this week to be suffering poison ivy. Seems to be an epidemic!
Sorry about the poison ivy. Great detail in your snippet.
That was so creepy! (in a good way). Looks like things are getting intense for Maggie.
Out west we have poison oak, which is also insidious and evil. Hope you find relief!
Wow, powerful magic and powerful writing, Gem. Very nicely done.
Oh, intriguing snippet! I wonder what happened and what is up with the hex stone. You definitely leave me with tons of questions I want answered;). Great snippet.
I actually felt shivers along my spine as I imagined the hex stone feeding. Great snippet!
I have a few things I would love for her to heal as well.
I can’t wait to see that vision.
Great snippet. 🙂
Oh wow … great stuff. can’t wait to find out who she healed.
So mysterious and dangerous. I wonder why it was hidden it seems like a big secret to uncover.
Well… I’m all in on this story. The visual imagery really reaches out and grabs your attention.
Wow… Now that is interesting. I am certainly hooked and definitely want to know what vision she just got sucked into. So mysterious, and I get the feeling she might be bargaining for more than she can handle at whatever has been locked away in her mind. I love the air and feel this is giving off. Great snippet!
