Hi everyone! I hope your time management is better than mine. @_@ The summer is racing along and I’m trying to keep up with all the projects I’ve started.

I’m continuing with Cat Nip today and posting the first lines from Installment #10 which will be available on Tuesday.

Horse and Carriage

He tried to bite me again. Outraged, I barred the door, moved to the window, and peered at the beast that apparently wanted to be my friend when he wasn’t snacking on me.

Paws in the air, he twisted and flexed his body, rubbing his shoulders on the rough floor, before he stood and prowled the length of the porch.

I watched his powerful muscles ripple beneath the spotted pelt and instinctively froze as I gazed at a dangerous predator and hoped I wasn’t  prey.

I breathed again when he found a patch of sun to his taste, stretched out on his belly, and closed his eyes.

I couldn’t get away from him. No matter where I stood in the cabin I could hear his purr, even though the window remained closed. The sound of his contentment irritated me and made me grit my teeth in frustration.
