Hi everyone. March definitely came in with a roar so I’m hoping for some lovely spring weather soon. Just in case, I have my gardening gear ready and a basket of bulbs waiting to be planted. 🙂 This week’s snippet is another excerpt from Rhythm, Smoke, Inc. 3.

Being tall herself, Holly had the unusual experience of tilting her head in order to see her dance partner’s face.

Sun lines marked his wide forehead, a shaggy lock of hair dangled above unruly brows, and dark eyes met her gaze as he frowned down at her.

As she resisted the urge to tidy him, he removed his suit jacket and his arm flexed showing off the bulging pecs under the pink dress shirt.

Silently, her dance partner led Holly to the official starter table.

“Good to see you Marty,” the registrar gushed without even glancing her way.

Okay, I can do this. She scrunched her toes inside barely-there sandals, wincing as she surveyed her partner’s humongous gray suede shoes.

“At least size fourteens,” she muttered, staring at the intimidating foot gear.

“Fifteens,” he grunted without looking at her. “Wide.”
